Today I had a job interview that I had to look appropriate for, but also the hot & humid Australian summer weather was another consideration when applying my makeup this morning. So with both of this factors in mind, I chose to apply quite a full coverage base that I had confidence would not result in my oily skin resembling a soup of colours on my face by the end of the day. So these are the products used on my face to create my desired look:
-Rimmel stay matte primer, a great standard matte primer that isn’t costly at all!
-Face of Australia loose translucent, a cult Australia loose powder due to rave reviews.
-Estee Lauder double wear foundation, a full coverage, heavy duty foundation, not for the faint hearted!
Tip: Beauty blenders or any similar complexion sponge is perfect for the application of the Estee Lauder foundation due to its full coverage, the damp sponge allows application to look flawless rather than heavy or ‘cakey’.
-Smashbox high definition concealer, a full coverage concealer that can multi-task because of its texture.
-BarMinerals Well Rested Setting Powder, this is a beautiful brightening powder for under the eyes which only needs the lightest of applications to act as the ultimate under eye pick me up! Couldn’t recommend enough.
-Hourglass ambient lighting powder in Dim Light, the most flattering powder I will ever get my hands on, truly flawless.
-Face of Australia HD brows, a great cheap eyebrow powder trio including a wax, does the trick nicely for everyday.
– TheBalm Frat Boy blush, the ultimate peachy, coral blush for someone with my light complexion.
-TheBalm MaryLouManizer, the most talked about highlighter of 2014, and people aren’t exaggerating, its stunning.
-Too Faced Chocolate bar palette, an amazing arrangement of colours with a mixture of finishes, a neutral girls fantasy.
-BareMinerals lash domination mascara, my new favourite, lengthens, volumises and doesn’t clump, has stolen my heart.
-Mac Shy Girl Cremesheen lipstick, the perfect everyday nude colour that doesn’t look like concealer! Super flattering.
The look all together was exactly what I wanted, and the matte finish of the foundation allowed me to apply some highlighter to my cheek bones, cupids bow, down the centre of my nose and across the highest points of my forehead, creating a beautiful glow that didn’t look like sweating my makeup off!
Hope everybody has had a lovely Wednesday, and just think, you’re half way through the weekdays!
