U R B A N D E C A Y X G W E N S T E F A N I:

Hello to anyone and everyone reading, this spontaneous blog post is being written from my Munich hotel room, because this is a product too perfect to not share in more detail.

Urban Decay are known for their eyeshadow palettes, the Naked series and the Vice series are both wildly popular and offer a variety of shades, all with the classic Urban Decay edge, but also known for the incredible quality. I personally own two Naked palettes, and both my Original Naked palette & Naked Three are very well loved!

Being a neutral eyeshadow lover, neither the Vice or Electric range of eyeshadows have ever hugely enticed me. However, the first eyeshadow palette collaboration from UD was a total show stopper for my collection.

The Urban Decay X Gwen Stefani 15 eyeshadow palette may seem dull to some, and I can understand why, it is around 10 shades of neutrals, with only about 4 colours that are slightly out of the Naked palette range, but regardless, my heart fluttered when I saw this palette. The collection of matte and shimmer shades all allowing to be used together to create various looks for me is a total win, there are beautiful all over lid colours, colours to transition with, darker more dramatic to deepen any look, for me, everything I would want in a palette.

My only criticism of this palette is a personal preference, which is that I will never wear a bright pink or bright blue, but after years of loving No Doubt & Gwen Stefani as a solo artist, I would expect no less from Ms Stefani who is larger than life.

For me the standout shade of the palette is a yellow toned gold that I believe would look phonemenal on any eye colour!

Having still not touched my own palette as writting this, I can only comment on the quality from in store, and say that I was blown away with the quality, but not suprised, as that is what I have come to expect from Urban Decay.

If you are wondering if this palette is worth the money, if you really need something limited edition, all I can say is that I am questioning if I should buy a second, it is 100% my kind of palette. If you like neutrals, run, don’t walk!

Thank you for reading and for continuing to read even though blog posts have been few and far between since the start of December as I am currently holidaying my way around Europe, eating every crêpe that I find. My @faceofsjw makeup instagram is still very active, but if you are interested in photo’s of my travels my personal account is @sarahjanewardle. My “faceofsjw” snapchat is also still being used while I am away, big love to you all x

  1. I saw this in stores the other day and wanted it so badly…
However I already have “many” neutral palettes and it retails for $95AUD…
So sadly I walked away from it…
I’m still admiring from afar though, as it’s gorgeous!
