These definitely aren’t my longest favourites, but nor are they my shortest, so some where in that middle department. I have had quite a few new products since coming home from my six week holiday, so a lot of these are relatively new to me, but I have been enjoying all of them! Please feel free to let me know in the comments which products you have been loving in the month of January, which I can’t believe is already over! As always thank you for reading, and big love to you x
* Too Faced – Born this way foundation -Vanilla
I ran out of my “Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless Foundation” about three weeks into my holiday and needed a new foundation. I had been wanting the “Born This Way” foundation since it came out, but hadn’t gotten around to trying this one. It is a relatively medium to full coverage foundation, and definitely build able. While this is not the most long wearing foundation I have ever worn, I love that it isn’t a flat looking foundation and does have a slightly satin finish meaning that the foundation looks like skin rather than like full foundation.
* Nivea after shave balm
This is the most bizarre beauty hack that I have heard but it is something that I wanted to try out for myself. It is a primer in the form of a mens after shave balm. Regardless of the packaging there is something seriously special about this product, it makes my foundation cling to my skin and also prolongs the wear of my foundation. It is a very “liquidy” product that has a slightly musky “masculine” scent to it which goes away as soon as foundation is applied. This has been a great everyday primer, and I look forward to seeing how it reacts with my other foundations.
* Stila stay all day liquid lipsticks
I have become obsessed with liquid lipsticks since buying “Jeffree Star Liquid Lipsticks” while I personally prefer the Jeffree Star formulation, these are still lovely! They are more of a mousse formulation and not as liquid. The colour “fiery” is the perfect red, a little darker than the average bright red, but not as dark as “Unicorn Blood from JS”, the perfect blood red! The formula is probably the least drying of any liquid lipstick that I have used, but is still very long wearing.
* Zara “Femme” perfume
I honestly did not realise that Zara did perfume until my trip to Europe in which I only brought small tester perfumes with me. I picked up “Femme” after smelling it a couple of times. It is quite a sophisticated scent that most would probably class as a night time scent, but I like it all day! I am useless at explaining scents, but it smells far more expensive than the £5.99 I paid for it. It is also available in a roller ball size, the small size that I purchased or the larger size, which I could not find in stores, but would love to eventually pick up.
* Urban Decay X Gwen Stefani palette
I think I have rambled about this palette enough previously, but I cannot get enough of the shades. I love the shades, the texture, the packaging and I even love the collaboration between Ms Gwen Stefani & Urban Decay Cosmetics. There is nothing that I can fault about the product, it is pure perfection. If I were too make a palette, I think it would be almost exactly like this. So many champagne and beige shades with the perfect amount of shimmer making them beautiful for opening the eye when placed all over the lid. There is also the mixture of matte shades within the palette and a classic matte black. While I know this is a limited edition palette and I’m not even sure if it is available still, I couldn’t not mention it because it has been very well loved in the month of December and January.
* Maybelline Superstay nail polish “Flesh Tone”
My favourite formula of nail polish to date, and probably my favourite colour from the formula line. This is not ‘flesh toned’ by any meaning of the word as it is a light pink with a hint of purple, yet to see a skin tone that colour, but regardless of the name it is a gorgeous nude shade. I love nudes for my finger nails, on an everyday basis and it also goes with every clothing outfit, colour or style. Versatile nail polishes are my personal favourites. The formula is nice and creamy, a little streaky which has not occurred with other colours from the line, but regardless this colour has been very well loved in the month of January.
