2017 Resolutions.

Another year has come and gone, and 2016 was a very mixed year for me. Personally my year was a real mixture, there were some very positive changes that happened, but there were also some things that happened in 2016 that I am not necessarily happy with. While the post would become far too personal to go into depth of my year, I think that 2017 is going to be a really big year for me. I grew up a lot in 2016, learnt a lot of things about myself throughout the year, and achieved things that I never expected too. 2016 was truly a mixed bag for me, and because of that I think that I am better equipped to execute 2017 the way that I would like things to go.

I have included some of my less personal resolutions in this post, because I think it is healthy to allow others to see goals and aspirations (to a certain extent) and also so that others can feel that this may be a space to share their own goals and resolutions.

These are in no particular order, and really have no major theme other than continuing to promote a healthy and positive mindset and lifestyle that I have attempted to curate through out 2017. Sorry for any cliches, but they’re classics for a reason.

1. Drink lots of water.

Water will forever be my number one skincare recommendation, while it may seem simple, a lot of people struggle with water intake. I find water refreshing, constantly available to myself and a great way of maintaining a youthful, plump and clear skin appearance. I personally do not struggle with water intake, and on average drink 2 litres a day,  but I want to continue that.

2. Eat healthier.

This is a classic, sorry I can hear you all cringing reading yet another person who wants to be healthier in 2017. However, I do not necessarily want to eat less, or cut out entire food groups, I more so want to choose the healthier options more often than not. Takeaway has been a naughty little habit for myself recently, I love the convenience, but I think with a little preparation that eating healthier is totally achievable.

3. Travel.

I already have a travel plan made for 2017, Bali, Indonesia for February, which is exciting, but I would love to get more holiday and travel plans ready for 2017. One of my best friends lives in Melbourne and the other is a flight attendant, two great reasons to travel more, even if it is only within Australia. I spent three months travelling over 2015/2016, and it was such an incredible experience, that I feel is well worth the savings spent.

4. Concentrate on personal style.

This may seem like a bizarre goal, but I really love fashion, something that I often do not share on my social media platforms. Since I have been slightly uncomfortable in my body of late (see resolution 2) I have been neglecting clothing and fashion, but it really is something that I love. I would love to include more fashion on my platforms and just spending more time focusing on my personal style and not neglecting it, because there really is nothing better than a carefully curated wardrobe.

5. Use my planner more often.

I have two diaries in fact this year, and I really want to try to stick to using it all year. I find that I feel more relaxed when I have all my scheduling and events written down and organised, there is something very soothing about having it planned out and knowing that nothing has been forgotten. I think that using my planner/diary is such a great way to ensure that everything I want to be achieved is, and also minimised stress for myself.

 

There are some quick resolutions, and while I have many more, I think these are a great start. I want to thank you all for being such a huge part of my 2016, and I really could not imaging how different my 2016 would have been without my website and Instagram. Some of the highlights of my 2016 have been related to ‘FaceOfSJW’ and I cannot thank you enough, even if you have only just joined me.

If you have not already made resolutions, please don’t feel that you can’t at any point in this year, you can always make new resolutions, write them down some where, type them in a note on your phone, just get them down and try your hardest to stick to them. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again.’
