Last year I did a large long winded review of a variety of products that I used in 2016, as lovely as the review was, and as proud as I was of the post, personally I found it a little long, and probably tiresome to read for viewers. I thought that the top five products for me in 2016 would be far more interested and attractive to view.
These are in no particular order, my top five products that I found completely necessary through out the year.
1. Clarisonic – Smart Profile Cleansing Device:
The Clarisonic cleansing devices were a mid to late 2016 introduction to me, and one that has truly changed my skin. I have never had bad skin by any account, but my skin has truly transformed in 2016, and partially thanks to using the Clarisonic devices, I have used the Mia 2, Mia Fit & Smart Profile, I have loved all three, but the Smart Profile is my outright favourite because of the body attachment. The Clarisonic devices add a glow and clarity to the skin, and I do recommend for any skincare lover, although those with sensitive skin may be a little nervous, I cannot recommend them enough.
Available: Sephora, Mecca.
2. MakeUp Forever – Ultra HD Stick Foundation:
Stick foundations became so popular in 2016, and I really enjoyed trying these formulas out, this has by far been my favourite stick foundation, and honestly my favourite foundation of the year. This has build able coverage, photographs beautifully, a wide variety of shades, and lasts well on my normal to oily skin. I really have no faults to this foundation, and find that I use less foundation when using stick formula in comparison to liquid formulas.
3. CoverFX – Custom Enhancer Drops ‘Celestial’:
If you follow my Instagram you may be wondering how this has already been a part of my end of year favourites, but I truly love this liquid highlight, and could not imagine doing my makeup without this product. I love the formula, and find that it does not enhance texture, pores or increase oiliness. This adds a glow to the skin, and sits perfectly on the skin, and does not disrupt any foundations placed on top. My only recommendation is do remember that this does set quite quickly, so apply, and blend and then add more to the desired area. The shade ‘moonlight’ I’m coming for you!
Available: Sephora, CoverFX website,
4. Pureology – Shampoo & Conditioner:
I never thought much of more expensive shampoo’s and conditioners and always thought that the most basic was fine. Well more than anything I did not want to spend more if I’m being honest, but once I was kindly introduced to the Pureology range, I could not help but fall in love with the Shampoo & Conditioner system. Both are so fabulous and my hair has not felt healthier than it does with these products. I love that there is only a minimal amount of product needs to be used, making them far more cost effective than most shampoo and conditioners. Pureology is also designed completely for colour treated hair, which covers the majority of women in Australia.
Available: Ulta Beauty, Ry Beauty (Online), Adore Beauty (Online).
5. Chloe –
This is my favourite perfume of 2016, it transitions seamlessly into daytime to night time, and is never over powering, while lasting beautifully on the skin. There are a couple of different scents within the range, but the original is my personal favourite. I am a huge perfume lover myself, so I love having a variety in my collection, but this has been my biggest standout of the year! The packaging is also adorable and looks beautiful on a vanity.
Available: Chemist Warehouse, David Jones, Sephora.
