This foundation is a total favourite of mine, and something that I discovered on my recent trip to the US, after enjoying the original Pro Matte Infallible foundation formula so much. However, I recently saw that it was being released, and then a beautiful package arrived at my door, and it was just a sign that I needed to do a review, especially after so many requests from Instagram posts.

It has a very thin consistency, and definitely needs to be shaken as it is a very water based and is very runny. The finish is definitely radiant, but not overly dewey, and a very similar consistency to the L’Oreal True Match foundation if you have used that previously it is a comparable feel.

I love the coverage of this, and find that I only need one layer all over the face, with light spotting to add extra coverage to any concern or problem areas with excess redness or breakout areas.

I think this will be popular with a majority of skin types, it is designed for Normal & Dry skin, and after using it various times on my own skin, I think it would be suitable for all skin types other than those who are extremely oily.

The biggest disappointment related to this foundation, is the shade range. The Australian initial release consists of 6 shades, completely un acceptable in my opinion regarding a liquid foundation release, there is a larger range in most powder range releases, even in some eye brow product ranges. Especially after the debacle with the Tarte Shape Tape foundation, which I personally won’t be supporting, this was extremely disappointing to see from a favourite brand of mine. My hope it that there is a larger range coming soon so that the foundation range can be more inclusive and allow more of Australia makeup lovers to trial the foundation with their complimenting shade.

The American release has 12 shades, still an incredibly small shade range for such a large company like L’Oreal, especially after their fabulous offering of True Match foundation. Fingers crossed for all that they either add the 6 more shades from the American range, or they completely expand it world wide to the True Match shade range.

I am such a big fan of this foundation, and my other criticism would be of the packaging, but it does all for the entirety of the foundation to be used up, unlike a glass bottle with a pump. I love the finish and wear of this foundation as well as the coverage, and have been reaching for it on a daily basis, and have found it lasting beautifully when wearing it all day work, even during the Summer time or even when I was in the US during a snowy Mid Western January.

L’Oreal have also launched a new range of Infallible primers and brushes to compliment the foundation release, but having never tried either, I cannot currently offer a review.

Thank you reading, and I am so sorry it has been such a long time since I’ve been consistent with my website, but since having such a fabulous start to the year, I am feeling more motivated and organised that ever, and consistency is key! Expect me to be back to my regularly scheduled programming as of this week, every Thursday & Sunday!

  1. I was so excited to try this, then saw the extremely limited shade range and was so disappointed. You’re so right about L√≥real being known for their extensive shade range, then only bring out 6- come on! I’m still keen to try this but I’ll have to mix with darker drops or a darker foundation.
