Fragrance is something that I do change up quite frequently and is very much affected by the season and my mood. Summer, I actually struggle the most with what to choose, because I like a sweeter scent, but don’t want it to be sickly or overly fresh that I smell like I’m wearing spray and wipe. So below are my favourite scents and the ones that will be on heavy rotation throughout the upcoming Summer in the Southern Hemisphere.
SALVATORE FERRAGAMO – Signorina $72-150AUD:
- Pink Pepper
- Red Currant
- Pannacotta Accord
This has quickly become my current favourite fragrance, the bottle is classy and very feminine and the fragrance inside reflects that. Undertones of musk are my favourites, and I love a flowery top note to accompany as it helps balance each other out. I think this is a really beautiful versatile scent that a lot of people would love, not too sweet, but the patchouli and musk help to make it a little classier.
SOLI NOTES – Rose $25AUD:
This is by far the sweetest of the fragrances mentioned, as is normally the case with cheaper scents. I still love this when it’s a beautiful sunny day, and as all Soli Notes fragrance are designed to be worn with other scents, this one does pair beautifully with other less sweet scents. I love it with my Clean Reserve ‘Sueded Oud’ which is also a simple fragrance, with a more musky scent so they pair beautifully. There is also a Vanilla from this range that I think would be really beautiful paired together.
COMMODITY – Gold $150AUD:
- Molten Amber
- Creamy Musk
NOTES MY THOUGHTS:
In case it wasn’t wildly obvious, I love musk and vanilla, and this fragrance has both. This is one of my all time favourite scents, and goes with any situation, and somehow transitions through seasons beautifully as well. The warmth of this fragrance makes it perfect in cooler seasons, and the vanilla keeps it Summer appropriate. If this fragrance wasn’t so expensive I would wear it daily all year round. Find it in stores in Sephora’s, and check out their extensive range, they also do really fabulous roller balls and travel sizes.
MOSCHINO – Fresh Couture $95-125AUD:
- Ylang Ylang
- White Peony
- White Patchouli
This fragrance has a few more notes than the above mentioned but somehow smells quite light and simple. I love that it smells so fresh and I think it’s the perfect Summer throw on perfume when there’s nothing you really feel like wearing. The bottle is iconic and makes a really cute display.
Thank you for reading, and let me know if there are any Summer fragrance that you’ve been loving.
