EXPERIENCE: SMIK Hair Terrigal.

So, I changed my hair. For as long as I’ve had my website and Instagram, my hair has been to my asstail bone‘ and a very dark brown that often appears black. I have always just kept growing my hair because I really didn’t know what I wanted to do with and it was easy to maintain when there’s no real style to it. However, I’ve become restless with my hair, and have been looking around to see what would still be easy to maintain but something a little different for me.

So this is where my fabulous hair dresser enters. I want to preface this post by saying that unlike lots of my other ‘experience’ posts, this one was completely paid by myself and is no way a sponsorship or collaborative post, but I just wanted to share my favourite hairdresser because I know how hard it can be to find one to trust with your locks. Stef has been looking after my hair since before she opened her own salon, SMIK. She’s the only person I’ve ever truly trusted with my hair, and has never left me dissapointed.

SMIK has been open since 2016 and is on Church Street in Terrigal, NSW. Stef is the owner and manager of the gorgeous salon just off Terrigal Beach, it’s a 6 seat salon that caters to full female and male hair services. I highly recommend them if you’re in the Central Coast area or willing to travel to Terrigal for a highly professional salon service.

The salon makes it super easy to work from if you’re time poor like myself, and have USB slots in the wall to charge phones, as well as wall sockets to charge laptops etc. The lovely team at SMIK are also super accomodating and always offering water and a coffee, and there’s lots of cafe’s on the street so if you’re hungry before or after there’s lot to eat around.

What I had done:

  • Cut.
  • Root Colour.
  • Light Balayage.
  • Treatment.
  • Toner.
  • Blow Dry/Style.

After:

So I am truly chuffed with my new hair, and cannot recommend getting the chop enough to anyone who may be considering it. I love how low maintenance it is, and how much faster it dries after washing now. As well as loving my new hair, I love the salon SMIK in Terrigal and suggest if you’re in the Central Coast area, go check it out!

Thank you for reading, and I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about my favourite salon, and my new hair look!

    1. Thank you Laura! I kind of want to go shorter again, definitely a ‘gateway’ hair cut haha. Yes always feels like a waste sitting a doing nothing for so long! Thank you for reading x

  1. Omg I LOVE it!! I’m so proud that you decided to make the change! It’s awesome that you’ve decided to embrace change and try something new. You know me, I’ve gone through so many different hair changes haha

  2. I love the 2019 short chop. I actually used to have my hair the same length, pretty much up to my tail bone too hahahha.

I got so sick of it that I cut it just below my shoulders and gradually have been cutting it shorter since. It’s an amazing feeling right! So much easier dry and maintain, I love it!

BTW… thanks for the reminder, I’m in need of a good hairchop!
