‘A full-coverage matte foundation with SPF 40. This matte foundation does it all. As well as acting as a sunscreen with SPF40, it helps to hydrate and brighten your skin, correcting colour and concealing dark spots and the signs of ageing as well as minimising the look of pores for a smooth matte finish.’
This isn’t meant to be your average CC Cream, but is instead a coverage cream, so it aims to be a classic foundation in regards to the coverage, but has more skincare benefits than the average makeup range. I love the feel of this CC+ Cream on my skin and find that it makes a really lovely daily base. This is the second instalment of the IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream being the ‘matte’ version, rather than their original and they also have an ‘illuminating’ version. I love that they’ve released the matte version as it makes it far more accessible to others.
- Skincare benefits.
- Matte for oily skin or all-day wear.
- Pump and squeeze tube, meaning that no product is sacrificed.
- In store and online availability.
- SPF 40.
- Recently expanded shade range.
- Moisturising feel with a matte finish.
- Limited shade range.
- Distinctive scent (doesn’t bother me personally).
- Quite a thick feel.
The matte variety of this CC+ Cream is a really lovely way to incorporate a slightly kinder set of ingredients in daily makeup. I love that the CC+ Cream comes in the ‘Original’, ‘Matte’ and ‘Illuminating’ meaning that all skin types can enjoy the formula.
I would describe it as a light coverage that is incredibly buildable but does have a thick feel to it so if you prefer something that feels completely weightless then this may not be it for you. However, I find when applied with a sponge then it feels slightly lighter and buffs into the skin more than when using a brush. I love how buildable this is, and how comfortable the matte feels on the skin despite being a matte. It does still have a moisturising aspect to it whilst being far more long-wearing than the original formula.
Overall, I think if you would like a comfortable BB Cream/CC Cream on your skin all day as your base, but prefer a little bit more coverage than either of those offer, then this could be the perfect alternative.
